Montone

Montone is a town of medieval origins and, in the 10th century,

it was the domain of the Marquess of Colle and later of Marquess Del Monte.

The village was fortified in 1121 and even it was under the influence of Perugia,

Montone alwayshad the freedom to administer the town with its magisters.

Montone was eventually conquered by the State of the Church

around the second half of 16th century.
